This page contains global settings which change the general operation of PMIO.
Preferences - General Page
Ask before opening more than allows you to specify the maximum number of images that can be opened at the same time before PMIO asks you to confirm.
Automatically scroll to show new thumbnails causes the thumbnail panel to scroll new thumbnails into view. This causes the thumbnail loader to run more slowly so it should be used with caution.
Show thumbnail info when label clicked causes a selected thumbnail to open into an information box when its label is clicked.
Show tooltips on thumbnails allows PMIO to display a floating information window when the mouse pointer passes over a thumbnail.
Draw shaded captions causes the window captions to be shaded. This feature is not very useful if you have Windows 98 or higher since this is built into the later versions of Windows.
Identify images by file extension causes PMIO to detect images by checking the file extension. This is faster than the other method which requires looking inside the file.
Show size cue on thumbnail causes thumbnails to show their size cues.
Give audio feedback causes PMIO to make sounds under various conditions. These sounds can be configured in Windows Control Panel.
Automatically use Batch Engine allows PMIO to run the Batch Engine automatically in an attempt to get thumbnails loaded more quickly. If this is enabled, PMIO will also run the Batch Engine when you insert a removable volume such as a CD. If you have a slow computer you might find it more convenient to turn this option off.
Automatically re-lay thumbnails
When the window is resized causes the thumbnails to be re-laid when the window is resized.
When a thumbnail is deleted causes the thumbnails to be re-laid when a thumbnail is deleted.
File operations
Confirm file deletes causes PMIO to ask you before deleting a file.
Confirm folder deletes causes PMIO to ask you before deleting a folder.
Smart conflict handling prevents file name conflicts when copying files by adding a number to conflicting file names at the destination.
Browser scroll bars
Place arrows at ends puts the scroll bar arrows at the ends of the bar, as is usual for Windows.
Place arrows together puts the scroll bar arrows together at one end of the bar. Some users may find this more convenient.
Windows standard scroll bars have been replaced by the above controls.
