Various functions of PMIO require you to choose a folder. Depending on the operation being performed, this folder may already exist or you may need to create it. PMIO standardises this procedure by providing the Choose Folder dialog.
The Choose Folder dialog
- The icon and captions of the dialog reflect the operation being performed.
- The drop-down list provides a list of recently-used folder names that you can choose from.
- You can type a new or existing folder name directly into the text box.
- The Browse button allows you to browse to a folder using a standard folder browser.
- The OK button selects the folder you have specified.
- The Cancel button closes the dialog and cancels the command that displayed it.
- The Drive Info button opens the Drive Info dialog.
- The Help button displays this help page.
As you type into the text box, PMIO checks the folder name for validity and existence. Under certain conditions, red error messages will be displayed, and the OK button will change:
- If the folder name is illegal, the text Illegal folder name will appear and the OK button will be disabled.
For the New Folder dialog:
- If the folder already exists, the text The folder already exists will be displayed and the Create Folder button will be disabled.
For other functions:
- If the folder does not exist, the OK button will change to Create Folder. If you click this button, the folder (and all subfolders leading to it) will be created as the dialog is closed.
